Platen press, cylinder or a modern cutting station?

Why the cheapest solution is often not the best one.

When it comes to cutting, creasing and embossing, many print shops in Germany and abroad still use the original Heidelberg cylinders or even older platen presses – often affectionately referred to as “windmills”. But now it is getting ever more difficult to find spareparts and operators for these old machines – quite apart from productivity and occupational safety.

The versatile KAMA die cutting and embossing machines of the ProCut series offer a double to triple performance, maximum accuracy and other high-margin applications such as kiss-cutting labels and embellishment with hot foil.
We have developed the ComCut 76 as a profitable successor for old cylinders: The new model for die-cutting, creasing, embossing offers professional functionality at an entry-level price and pays for itself with a short period of use - even compared to the depreciated cylinder.

When is the right time to invest in modern die-cutting technology? This is a question asked by many printing companies at home and abroad. With the ComCut 76 the answer is clear: now.

Beyond the purely economic considerations, there are further advantages:

  • Extended range of services for your customers
  • Significantly higher, consistent quality - a must for brand manufacturers
  • Fast familiarisation and up-to-date job security
  • Suitable sheet format for today's printing pressess

In some areas, the benefits of KAMA machines are easy to calculate:

  • Shorter set-up times
  • Double to triple performance
  • Faster stripping of blanks, as almost no nicks are required
  • Convenient financing and high re-sale value

Calculations based on these variables show that the KAMA ProCut solution pays for itself in around 2½ years, the ComCut 76 even faster. With higher utilisation slightly faster, or slightly longer if it is utilised for less than one shift. The consistently high quality of blanks also opens up access to the niche market for digitally printed folded cartons. For this we offer a die cutting machine with a tool-free inline stripper on rollers, which is pushed into the machine when needed (KAMA ProCut 76 Packaging).

Our products for the commercial market

We offer machines with a particularly wide range of applications both for finishing and converting (KAMA ProCut series) as well as for folding, gluing, dispensing (ProFold 74). Added to this is the new KAMA ComCut 76 die cutting and embossing machine - the ideal successor for old cylinders with double to triple productivity. All solutions can also be used for folding carton production and serve the packaging market.
